Goodbye Visitor Grandstands, Hello Heavy Equipment

DURHAM, N.H. — Grandstands be gone. Heavy equipment has been moved on site, trees have been cleared and a crew dismantled the visitor’s side grandstands on Tuesday. Work has commenced on West Stadium, the multipurpose facility that will be the new home to the nationally ranked UNH football team.

DURHAM, N.H. – UNH director of athletics Marty Scarano and deputy AD Steve Metcalf are in stadium mode. Each week they attend a meeting with the designers, architects and builders who are charged with bringing a new athletics stadium to campus by the summer of 2016.

Athletics Selects Populous & Lavallee Brensinger Architects For New Complex

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire athletic department announced that architect firms Populous and Lavallee Brensinger Architects, in conjunction with PC Construction Company, have been selected as the design-build team for the new $25 million athletic complex scheduled to open in the summer of 2016.

USNH Board of Trustees Approves Plan for Renovated UNH Athletic Complex

CONCORD, N.H. — The University System of New Hampshire board of trustees approved the University of New Hampshire’s plan to renovate its athletic complex as part of its campus master plan at its meeting today. The approval came after the university successfully raised $5 million in private donations. The renovated complex will replace Cowell Stadium and offer increased and improved seating in a new home grandstand on the west side to include state-of-the art broadcast and WiFi capability, concessions, restrooms, and a special student section. This summer lights are being installed and seating on the east side of the facility is being upgraded.

UNH Outlines Plan for New Athletic Complex as Part of Campus Master Plan

DURHAM, N.H. – With a focus on meeting its strategic priorities, the University of New Hampshire is moving forward with fundraising and planning for a new athletic complex that will benefit the university, Durham and the Seacoast region, and the state. Athletic facilities and venues, including a new stadium, were identified as a priority in the campus’ master plan to improve recruitment, student satisfaction, and overall visibility in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
