The ticket windows are in place and will be open for business before too long. A concrete pumping rig sent product into the upper reaches of the new Wildcat Stadium earlier this week to finish off a couple of small projects. Painters and carpet folks and ceiling installers and masons, among many others, handled various projects. The opening game in the stadium is just over two months away – the UNH football team christens its new home with a game against Holy Cross on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. – and crews are in the process of adding finishing touches to the place.

The massive 30-foot by 50-foot video board is in place and should be operational by early July. Crews from Stanley Elevator have made much progress in the last week as they build a couple of elevators on site. Carpeting, painting and brickwork are under way in various spots in the building. Construction of the new Wildcat Stadium is steaming along where once stood the visitors’ stands for Cowell Stadium.

The UNH football team will pay a visit to an old haunt in the 2017 season. Athletics department officials this week finalized a deal to have the Wildcats play their FBS game at Georgia Southern University on Sept. 9, 2017, the second week of that season.

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire Department of Athletics took a major step toward an exciting new era when director of athletics Marty Scarano and head football coach Sean McDonnell on Wednesday night unveiled details about the Service Credit Union Victory Club that will be a centerpiece of the soon-to-open Wildcat Stadium.
A crew dismantled the Dungeon on Tuesday. The stands in one end zone, the student section of Cowell Stadium, were being taken apart in anticipation of the UNH football team’s offseason. At the same time, not far away on the back side of the new Wildcat Stadium, a line of heavy-duty lifts delivered materials to the upper reaches of the under-construction facility and workers carried out their duties on various levels of the building.
And then there were two. The UNH football team will close the curtain on Cowell Stadium in short order. The Wildcats have three games remaining in the 2015 regular season and two of them are in their old facility.
For the better part of a week, players, coaches, athletic trainers, staff members and others in and around the UNH Field House were invited to take Sharpie to steel and sign the final beam to be put in place atop the new Wildcat Stadium.

A giant crane carried out its duties at the front of the new Wildcat Stadium on Thursday morning, lifting steel beam after steel beam high onto the facility.
Many UNH football fans got their first look at the new, under-construction Wildcat Stadium last Saturday during the team’s 57-14 win over Central Connecticut State University.

Up We Go: First Steel Rises in Stadium
DURHAM, N.H. —
Crews assembled a towering 80-ton crane on the site of the new UNH Stadium on Tuesday.The crane went to work on a steamy Wednesday afternoon and began lifting into place the steel that will form the skeleton of the building and help bring the multi-purpose facility to life.
The concrete kept coming on Wednesday morning on the site of the new UNH stadium.

Let there be more lights. A towering crane raised another light tower in the UNH stadium on Tuesday morning. The lights are now set and in place for the new stadium. There are four towers on what will be the new home side of the field and two opposite them.

A couple of cement trucks rolled onto the construction site for the new UNH Stadium early on Thursday morning. The Stadium is heading upwards. Concrete pouring will be a major focus at the project site for the next six weeks or so.

The pile-driving crane, its job complete, has left the site. A crew dismantled the crane and loaded it onto flatbed trucks on Thursday as setup and construction work continued on UNH’s new stadium site.

Pile Driving Takes Top Billing In Stadium Project
Blasting gave way to pile driving this week on the site of the new UNH stadium. A crane operator began driving steel H-beams on Tuesday and it will take probably two to three weeks to sink about 140 beams that are the start of the foundation for the stadium, which will stand just over 80 feet.

They were having a, well, blast on a sunny and hot Thursday afternoon at the UNH Stadium construction site. One of the projects over the next week or so in the stadium will be to blast and remove ledge that sits at the scoreboard end of the field where drainage trenches and other elements of the stadium will be.
